About Humble, TX

Humble is a city in northeast Harris County, and Interstate 69, shared with US 59, has an exit for downtown Humble. Atascocita lies to the east, and Kingwood lies nearby across the line in Houston. The San Jacinto River runs close by, and an old truss bridge over it still stands.

The town grew on oil: by 1905 the Humble field was the biggest producing field in Texas, and it gave its name to the Humble Oil and Refining Company.
